KINGS XI PUNJAB vs RISING PUNE SUPERGIANT, 4th Match - IPL ~ IPL BOX - Indian Premier league 2017

Venue: Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore
Date & Time: Apr 08,  04:00 PM  LOCAL

Remember the 219 by Virender Sehwag? Current Kings XI Punjab coach Sehwag surely does, so does the pitch curator Samandar Singh Chauhan at the Holkar Stadium. Samandar takes great pride for having prepared the track that he did, and if Glenn Maxwell's assessment of the ground is anything to go by - 'it is a very small ground' - a bowlers's nightmare awaits on Saturday (April 8) when two of the bottom teams from last year - Rising Pune Supergiant and Kings XI Punjab - take on each other in Indore, hosting only its second season of the Indian Premier League.

Supergiant are coming into the game slightly warmed up having successfully chased down 184 in their opening clash. The team may have won, but ask Ashok Dinda if the game is turning harsh towards his breed. Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, know what is in store. They played two practice games, with all four innings registering totals in excess of 215.

With some of the most explosive batsmen in cricket in their ranks - Martin Guptill, Maxwell, David Miller and Eoin Morgan, they know very well where their strength lies. With Hashim Amla in ominous touch in the practice games, they might look to have him in the side and compromise on the explosive all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for the opening game. Maybe Maxwell will even consider opening the innings alongside Amla, giving the best four as many deliveries as possible to face - with Morgan and David Miller to follow in the line-up.

Darren Sammy wasn't present for any of the practice routines or matches, but the franchise has denied any injury concerns with regards to the former West Indian skipper. There is a rich pace-bowling reserve that they possess, but the most experienced in the lot, Ishant Sharma and Varun Aaron, can be expensive - a trait captains may not enjoy in such conditions. Getting in T Natarajan, an unknown quantity who can bowl yorkers at will, wouldn't be a bad idea for the home side in the opening game.

Even as the ground is small, legspinners Adam Zampa and Imran Tahir remain Supergiant's best bet. On an easy-paced wicket, the lack of pace on a flatter trajectory combined with turn could be a boon. Veteran all-rounder Rajat Bhatia with his canny medium pacers proved useful in the previous game, and will again be a key figure if not the most attractive. They may look to include left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, who bowled well in the nets, in place of Dinda, who was clobbered for 57 runs against Mumbai Indians.

KXIP vs RPS Head to Head Records IPL
Preety Zanta is the owner of the KXIP. She is a very famous Bollywood celebrity. Her team KXIP have played all the seasons of the IPL. But they unable to show significance performance. Only one time they able to appear in Final of the IPL. David Miller is the current captain of the team. While Glenn Maxwell is other well known player of the team. They only able qualify for final 1 team in 9 seasons.
KXIP vs RPS Head to Head Records IPL is too much old. Head to head KXIP and RPS played on 2 matches so far. KXIP won match and RPS also won 1 match. Kings XI Punjab is the most unluckiest team of the Indian Premier League. They played all the seasons. But unable win even a single. On the other hand Rising Pune Supergiants is only 1 season old IPL team.

When: Kings XI Punjab vs Rising Pune Supergiant, April 8, 04:00 PM IST

Where: Holkar Stadium, Indore

What to expect: A high-scoring encounter is on the cards. All tickets are sold out. Expect the crowds to be enthralled by the fours and sixes. With no regional affinity to either of the teams, they wouldn't bother if it is MS Dhoni or Glenn Maxwell are providing the entertainment, as far as they come and for as long as they do.

Team News:

Kings XI Punjab: Darren Sammy is expected to be unavailable for the opening game. The rest of the side is fit. Given the impeccable touch Hashim Amla was in during the practice games, he could be playing the opening match.

Probable XI: Hashim Amla, Manan Vohra, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Gurkeerat Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Wriddhiman Saha, Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan

Rising Pune Supergiant: With another high-scoring encounter expected, the tourists might look to drop Ashok Dinda. Given the way Jaydev Unadkat bowled in the nets, the left-armer could come in. They are unlikely to make any other changes

Probable XI: Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal, Steven Smith (c), Ben Stokes, MS Dhoni (wk), Rajat Bhatia, Adam Zampa, Jaydev Unadkat, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir

What they said:

"We have got a good rounded side with players in positions to put pressure on the opposition. But you can have a great team on paper, but it doesn't work for you. You need to be consistent, you can't afford to be complacent with a good team on paper" - Glenn Maxwell, Kings XI Punjab skipper

"We know they (Kings XI Punjab) are going to play at their strength, which is attack, and we are going to play at our strengths. Yes, we do think about other teams, but we will play to our strength." - Mayank Agarwal, Rising Pune Supergiant opener
